Who Am I
For today my name is 'The Pool Builder'. One year ago I left the industry after building pools for 5 years, and turned to other interests in my life. It started off as videos and pictures, so I could tell clients what to expect, it evolved into a place for me advertise my services, and the current project is for this to be a resource where families, renovators and builders can undertake their own projects
I am in the process of designing a concrete pool for our yard to do as an owner builder. Once I have the design I was hoping to get it engineered/drafted for council and start organising filtration etc. Do you have any contacts regarding engineers that would be suitable.
Also regarding in floor cleaning systems are they effective or problamatic with many nozzles etc?
I was thinking may be a couple of filter returns toward the bottom either end of the pool to circulate the solar heated water and run a robotic cleaner as an alternative to the in floor system?
hows it mate,
first step you need to do before designing your pool is to ring the council and get your site layout plans. this will be needed for your engineer.
what area do you live in for starters. If your pool has no dramas (at least 1m away from boundary, away from sewer lines, etc)The easiest way i know to get engineering done is just to approach one of the smaller pool companies and ask to have a engineering signature. All engineering designs are standard and i know some pool companies will charge $50 for the signature. Engineers will charge around $1000 and give you the stock standard plans.
As for cleaning systems i have a contact you can talk with, i have his phone number, Ive only met him twice but he knows more than me and has done a lot of work in this area. Over the years I have only done 4 pools with in floor cleaning. Not being a rich man myself i have often wondered wouldn’t it be better to get a baracuda than pay the big bucks for infloor cleaning.
in regards to your plumbing with the returns the main problem is having equal pressure, this is easily fixed by having your plumbing manifolded.
